Jerry Simon finishes 2nd place in Tour de LA Stage Race -
Jerry Simon took second place in the Master 40+ TdL stage
race by finishing second in the road race and third in the time trial. Jay
and Jerry both finished with the pack in the criterium. Jay placed 7th
overall in the stage race. In the Cat 1,2,3 race, Ed Novak had a solid
time trial finishing in 6th place however he lost too much time in the road race
to be in contention for the stage results. Diego Ortiz also raced with Ed
in the Cat 1,2,3 race. |

Ed Novak takes 4th in Cat 3 Road Race Championship -
The NOLA Lending Racing team braved the heat for the
District Road Racing Championship in Natchez. The Master's race always has
a lot of talent and unfortunately the team missed the winning break. Ed
Novak was able to finish 6th in the Master 35+ event. In the Category 3
race the following day, we again missed an early break which went at the start.
We had enough legs in the race between Jason, Jay and Jerry to eventually help
Ed get into it. Unfortunately, Diego flatted when the wheel truck wasn't
around and lost the rest of the pack. Ed finished 4th in the race and
Jerry finished 7th. |

team of Charlie Davis, Mark Graffagnini and Ed Novak. Diego
and Ed got into the winning break during the road race where Diego attacked to
win solo more than 30 seconds ahead of second place. Ed finished 5th in
the road race in front of the main pack and was able to move up in the standings
following his 3rd place in the evening's time trial. Diego held his lead
through the time trial and his second place finish in the criterium assured him
the overall stage victory. Ed and Charlie finished the criterium with the
field which kept Ed on the podium in third place for the stage race. Charlie finished
13th in stage race. Marked was in the top ten after the road race and time
trial but had to skip the criterium due to illness. Jaro Jurenko
enjoyed strong results returning to racing with the Master 40+ group. Jaro
was the sole rider for NOLA Lending in the race but still managed to finish in the
top ten behind his strong sprints in the road race and criterium where he

NOLA Lending put three teams on the podium in 2 Man Time Trial - About
the only thing that makes early season time trials more difficult is the weather
and the NOLA Lending Racing Team had plenty of strong cross winds and cool
temperatures to battle on the first day of sprint in La Place, LA for the 2
Man Time Trial. A 20 mph+ cross wind took a bite out of the times in
the 40 km race but the team still managed a good showing. Jerry Simon
and Jason Miller took 1st place in the Master 40+ race while Jay
Scheib and Charlie Davis took 3rd place. Diego Ortiz and
Mark Graffagnini took 2nd place in the Category 3 race.

24 Hours of Clear Springs Mountain Bike Race - For
the second year in a row, Team Buckwheat took first place in the 24 Hour
of Clear Springs mountain bike race in Clear Springs, MS. Rusty and
Jason were back from last year's team and joined by Ed and Mike
Lew. The course was very sloppy with all the recent rains which
actually lead Brian Coleman, the race organizser, to cut the race to just 13
hours when the course continue to degrade into the evening. Team Buckwheat
was still able to complete 10 labs while the next best teams could only complete
9. (read Jason's race report) |
